Frequently Asked Questions:
Below, you will find answers to the most commonly asked questions from our clients regarding our treatment approach, who can access our services and what you can expect from your therapy sessions.
Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question. We are happy to help.
How long will I need to commit to therapy?
The duration of therapy varies based on individual needs and issues being addressed. Some clients notice improvements after a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy. You are welcome to discontinue therapy at any time without judgment.
Do I need a referral to access therapy?
No referral is necessary if you choose to pay the private fee. However, you can receive a reduced rate with a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) or Eating Disorders Plan (EDP) from your GP. Please refer to the fee schedule at the bottom of the page for more details.
Can I claim Medicare rebates for your services?
Yes, our services are eligible for Medicare rebates with a referral from a GP under a Mental Health Care Plan. This helps make mental health support more affordable by reducing out-of-pocket costs.
What age groups do you provide counselling services for?
Beaconbridge Psychotherapy offers therapeutic services for individuals aged 12 and above.
How long is a session?
Each therapy session lasts 50 minutes. The frequency and duration of sessions will be tailored to your individual needs and treatment plan.
Is my information kept confidential?
Yes, all your information is kept confidential. We follow strict privacy policies to ensure your personal and session details are secure and only shared with your consent, except in situations where there is a risk of harm.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance to avoid cancellation fees. This allows us to offer the slot to another client who may need it.
